The Greenup County Green Fund was established in 1999 by a family member in memory of Owen and Doris Pillans.  The purpose of the Fund is to encourage projects which physically improve and enhance the natural environment, and quality thereof, in Greenup County, Kentucky, and to support educational or research projects that promote or develop these goals.

The amount and number of projects which will be recognized in any one year shall be determined by the Fund’s Advisory Committee.  It is specifically understood that more than one eligible project may be funded in any given year if the Advisory Committee so elects.

Project award rules:

  1. All applications must be submitted on or before February 5 to the Foundation’s offices.
  2. The Advisory Committee will make their recommendations for the award(s) by March.
  3. The award recipient shall submit a written report informing the Advisory Committee and the Foundation on the progress of the project, followed by an optional on-site visit.
