Area Education Grants
What is Area Education Grants?
A program of the Foundation for the Tri-State Community that has been providing grants to serve students and teachers in Boyd and Greenup County schools since 1983. It provides a vehicle for Boyd and Greenup area businesses, parents, and the community-at-large to help advance our community’s student achievement.
What kind of grants does Area Education Grants provide?
Teachers in our local schools develop creative and innovative projects to take student learning beyond the standard curriculum, but they need financial resources to implement them. That’s when we step in to help provide those teachers with the resources they need to better serve our kids. We invest in the classrooms of Boyd and Greenup Counties because we know our community’s students are our greatest resource!
How does Area Education Grants work?
Step 1- Teachers develop a project that will engage and excite their students to learn
Step 2- In August, Teachers submit their innovative project ideas to be considered for funding
Step 3- The Area Education Grants Advisory Board will select creative and inspirational projects to fund
Step 4- Teachers complete their projects
Step 5- Area Education Grants Advisory Board members visit the classrooms to see the outcomes
