Grant Competition To Celebrate
Its 35th Anniversary
Seeks Proposals That Promote Interstate Collaboration
Ashland, Ky. (Oct. 16, 2007) – The Foundation for the Tri-State Community, Inc. announced today that it is awarding a $35,000 grant to promote interstate collaboration in the tri-state.
“This year, the Foundation is celebrating its 35th anniversary,” said Mary Witten Wiseman, the Foundation’s president. “It is very appropriate that the Foundation mark this important milestone with this grant that promotes collaboration in our tri-state area.
“We want non-profit charitable organizations, educational institutions or governmental units that serve all or a portion of the tri-state to be aware of this unique grant,” said Wiseman. “A key to this grant is that these qualified organizations must partner with one or more similar organizations in other states in the tri-state to be eligible for the grant.
“We are looking for proposals that have significant impact on our area’s quality of life, show meaningful collaboration among organizations, cross state borders, and demonstrate innovation and creativity,” noted Wiseman.
Organizations that desire to apply for the grant must inform the Foundation by mail no later than Feb. 1, 2008. More information about the grant is available by mail or e-mail request. E-mail requests may be submitted through the Foundation’s Web site at www.tristatefoundation.org or by mail to the Foundation at PO Box 2096, Ashland, KY 41105-2096.
A selection panel will review all applications and determine the finalists. Finalists will be required to complete in-depth proposals required by July 1, 2008, with announcement of the recipient expected in mid-August 2008.
The Foundation for the Tri-State Community, Inc. is a community foundation serving eastern Kentucky, southern Ohio and southwestern West Virginia. It is the area’s only community foundation.
