Recruitment and Training
This grant enabled CASA to purchase the computer equipment necessary to utilize the new online training curriculum provided by Kentucky CASA. This grant was funded, in part, by the Boyd County Fund.
TRI-STATE AIDS TASK FORCE, West Virginia, $700
Instilling HIV Positives with Healthy Lifestyle Choices
This grant provided materials, literature and marketing for the Task Force’s new Healthy Lifestyle monthly group sessions, designed to demonstrate new approaches and techniques in empowering those living with HIV/AIDS with self-worth and self-esteem. Funded, in part, by the WV Neighborhood Investment Program Endowment Fund.
Education Alliance, West Virginia, $2,000
The SEEDS Program
This grant assisted the Alliance in providing financial assistance to Wayne County High School to implement its development plan in conjunction with their participation in the SEEDS program, an exclusive professional development program for WV principals. This grant was funded, in part, by the WV Neighborhood Investment Program Endowment Fund.
Helping Hands of Greenup County, Kentucky, $2,000
Xerox 8860 Phaser Printer
This grant assisted Helpings Hands with the purchase of a new color printer. This grant was funded, in part, by The Putnam Agency Fund.
Huntington Area Food Bank, Tri-State, $4,000
Primarius Software
This grant, along with an $11,250 grant from the Ashland Inc. Donor Advised Fund, enabled the Food Bank to purchase the Primarius software program. This software enabled the Food Bank to meet the reporting requirements required by the federal government regarding its donations and distributions.
Kiwanis Day Care Center, West Virginia, $1,500
Classroom Additions
This grant helped the Center furnish two new classroom additions with furniture and/or equipment and supplies. This grant was funded, in part, by the WV Neighborhood Investment Program Endowment Fund.
LEDC Symmes Creek Restoration Committee, Ohio, $2,121
Symmes Creek Trail Map and Marketing Materials
This grant provided funding to develop and publish a Symmes Creek Canoe Trail Map, to both education the Tri-State community and encourage access and use of the 30-mile canoe trail by community residents and tourists
Lawrence County Health Department, Ohio, $1,000
Improvement project.
This grant aided the health department in upgrading their waiting room and lab area with new paint and laminated flooring.
Marshall University, West Virginia, $1,500
Camp New You at MU
This grant provided funding to assist Marshall in hosting Camp New You @ MU, an innovative program designed to help youth and their parents identify and practice lifestyle changes that will assist in reducing unhealthy body weight and chronic disease through increased physical activity and sound nutrition.
Jesse Stuart Foundation, Kentucky, $4,000
Handicap ramp
This grant assisted Jesse Stuart with the construction of a new handicap ramp on the west side of the building
Little Victories Animal Rescue, West Virgina, $2,000
Technology updates
This grant enabled Little Victories to purchase new computer equipment and software for its newly constructed office space. The new equipment and software will significantly increase the efficiency of keeping electronic medical and adoption records.
