This grant assisted the Guild with the purchase of a portable audio system.

2009 Wayne County Cloverbud Camp
This grant assisted the 4-H leaders in hosting a week-long day camp, which provided character building and educational opportunities for children ages 4 to 8.
SECOND QUARTER FUNDING CYCLE
CITY OF GREENUP, Kentucky $1,000
Streetscaping Greenup with Color
This grant enabled the City, in cooperation with the Main Street program, begin to beautify the downtown area with fresh flowers, in both hanging baskets and planters.
HIGHLANDS MUSEUM & DISCOVERY CENTER, Kentucky $2,300
Weather Advisory
A weather center was added to the aviation exhibit in the Children’s Discovery Center with the aid of this grant. The weather center will be completely interactive and will address the need to add a science aspect to the traditional museum tour as requested by local teachers, as a complement to their curriculum.
UNLIMITED FUTURE INC., West Virginia $1,000
Mountain Bounty Kitchen Preparation
This grant assisted Unlimited Future (UFI) with repairs in preparing Mountain Bounty Kitchen for its new tenant, Marshall Community & Technical College (MCTC). MCTC will become UFI’s exclusive tenant in the kitchen and will incorporate the operation of the kitchen facility into MCTC’s ongoing culinary education operations and culinary community outreach program, including its workplace training program.

AMERICAN FOUNDATION FOR THE BLIND, West Virginia $2,000
AFB TECH: Optical Laboratory
This grant assist AFB in reaching its goal of raising $25,000 as a one to one match to a grant from the Reader’s Digest Partners for Sight Foundation. The monies will enable AFB, working in conjunction with Marshall University, to develop a fully operational system that takes basic measurements of display screens of various products, such as cell phones and glucose meters. The collected measurements will allow AFB to develop industry standards for these products and modifications that will benefit the visually impaired.
HUNTINGTON CITY MISSION, West Virginia $1,000
Women & Families Furniture
This grant helped the Mission purchase heavy-duty furniture for its Women and Families Department
FOURTH QUARTER FUNDING CYCLE
HUNTINGTON AREA REVITALIZATION COALITION, West Virgina $2,000
After School Gardening Program for At-Risk Children
The Coalition, in partnership with the Huntington Community Gardens, in cooperation with the A.D. Lewis Center, the Barnett Center and the WV State University Agricultural Extension Office have created this program for at-risk youths, with the ultimate goal of providing learning opportunities on subjects such as nutrition, basic gardening, biology, environmental sciences and culinary arts. This grant was funded, in part, by the West Virginia Neighborhood Investment Program Endowment Fund.
SAFE HARBOR OF NORTHEAST KENTUCKY, $1,000
Safe Harbor Day Care
This grant assisted Safe Harbor in purchasing equipment for its children’s program and daycare room.
