• Court Resurfacing
• The Center has started a major renovation of its outdoor court facilities. This grant will help the Center resurface the outdoor courts.

• Challenge Leadership Program
• This grant will provide funding to bring staff from the Challenge Leadership Program to instruct selected Boyd County Middle School students, from all academic ability levels, in Peer Mediation training.

CABELL HUNTINGTON COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS.. West Virginia

$1,500.00

• Vanity Fair Security
• Vanity Fair is the only low-income apartment complex in the tri-state area that rents specifically to the hard-to-place, difficult to serve, single, homeless population. This grant will help fund the purchase and installation of two security cameras at the complex.

• Restroom Facility
• This grant will provide funding for modern restroom stalls at the Cabwaylingo State Forest, located in southern Wayne County, West Virginia.

• Computer Awareness and Education
• This grant will be used help fund the Center's new after-school computer awareness program for children ages 4 - 12.

• Success By Six
• Initiated by the United Way of the River Cities to develop a collaborative partnership among Cabell County citizens and professionals in the medical, business, and educational fields, this program's overall goal is to promote school readiness for children. This grant will help purchase a laptop computer for the Program Coordinator, who will be traveling and working in the field.

AMERICAN RED CROSS West Virginia

• Automated External Defibrillator Training Program
• This grant will fund the purchase of two AED trainers to implement this new training program in the tri-state area.

• Norman Rockwell Exhibit - "Family Life"
• This grant will be used toward the exhibit fee to bring the "Norman Rockwell and the American Family" Exhibit to the Ashland Area Art Gallery during August 2000.

• Sharing the Arts in School
• The Ashland and Russell Independent School Districts have formed a partnership to ensure that all students have equal accessibility to the arts. This grant will provide supplies to implement this unique program.

• J. Robert Pritchard Dialysis Center
• This grant will be used toward making the new dialysis center handicapped accessible.

$1,300.00

• Discovery Center Equipment & Training
• The Discovery Center of Covenant School provides educational therapy to learning disabled students in grades K-10. This grant will provide funding for new chalkboards and adjustable tables and chairs to serve the diverse Discovery Center population.

• Project Fit America
• This grant will be used toward the purchase of the equipment for Project Fit America, a fitness in education program for children and their families.

$2,500.00

• Museum Making Connections
• Museum Making Connections brings a vivid interactive connection to the Museum's collections and programs to area children who might not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in the arts. This grant will help fund this program in schools in the tri-state area.

ASHLAND CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER Kentucky

• Ashland Child Development Center
• This grant will help fund the purchase of a new commercial freezer for the Center.

$1,000.00

• Ashland Main Street
• This grant will be used toward the purchase of a new copy machine for this organization.

$2,000.00

• Transitional Living Small Group Home
• This grant will be used to provide handicapped accessibility to Cammack's proposed new group home. This grant is contingent upon the receipt of additional funds needed to begin construction on the group home.

$1,500.00

• Helping Hands of Greenup County
• This grant will be used toward the renovation of the Helping Hands offices in Greenup, Kentucky.

$1,500.00

• Ironton City Health Department
• This grant will help fund the Health Department's renovation of their offices in downtown Ironton.

$2,000.00

• Childwatch. CASA of Boyd County, Inc.
• This grant will be used to provide training for both the new director and volunteers of this new Boyd County organization, which serves the interests of children placed in foster care.

• JA-TITAN
• This grant will provide materials for this new innovative online business simulation game to be placed in three area high schools, one each in Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky.

• Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic
• This grant will provide funds to purchase surgical equipment needed at a new clinic to be established at the Humane Society.

$1,500.00

• Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers Network
• This grant will provide funding to begin an Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers Network in the Ashland area. This organization provides non-medical assistance to seniors and adults with disabilities in our community.

FOURTH QUARTER FUNDING CYCLE

ART RESOURCES FOR THE TRI-STATE West Virginia

$2,500.00

• Auditorium Electrical Work - Old Huntington High School
• This grant will help fund the electrical work needed to make the stage at the old Huntington High School ready for rentals as well as for use by the Art Resources of the Tri-State.

$2,400.00

• School Based Mentoring Program
• This grant will help fund the new school based mentoring program, which will provide mentors to twenty-five at-risk students at each of the following schools: Crabbe Elementary, Ashland, KY; Raceland/Worthington Elementary, Worthington, KY; and Spring Hill Elementary, Huntington, WV.

$2,500.00

• Automatic External Defibrillator
• This grant will be used to help purchase an AED to be used by the Chronic Disease Management Program during stress testing and in the exercise room. This grant is contingent upon receiving full funding for the AED.

• Durbin Community Outreach Center
• This grant will be used to make the Center's restroom handicapped accessible. This grant is funded, in part, by the Boyd County Fund.
